Summer gets brutally humid with temperatures hitting 35°C, but that's prime festival season. Hakata Gion Yamakasa in July is intense — half-naked men racing through the streets carrying massive floats. Winter stays mild compared to Tokyo, rarely dropping below 5°C. January through February sees fewer crowds and hotel prices drop by 30%. Just pack layers since the weather changes fast. Rainy season hits June through early July — not ideal for walking around, but great for cozy ramen sessions.
