Fergana Valley in August
Good time to visit
August is a reasonable time to visit Fergana Valley.
All Months
April through June offers perfect weather and blooming landscapes. Temperatures hover around 20-25°C, ideal for walking and outdoor exploration. Fruit trees blossom in April, creating natural confetti across the valley. May brings the first melons and early apricots to markets. June sees longer days and warmer evenings perfect for outdoor dining. September and October provide another sweet spot. Summer heat fades but warmth lingers. Harvest season fills markets with the year's best produce — grapes, pomegranates, and late-season melons. October brings golden light that photographers love. Winter from December through February sees snow in mountain areas but valley floors stay milder. Some guesthouses close and transport becomes less reliable. July and August bring intense heat — temperatures can hit 40°C. Many locals retreat indoors during midday hours. But summer also means the fullest markets and most festivals. The Silk and Spices Festival in Bukhara (just outside the valley) happens in May and draws craftsmen from across the region.
