Eswatini in October
Good time to visit
October is a reasonable time to visit Eswatini.
All Months
April through September is prime time - dry season with perfect weather. Days are warm (20-25°C), nights are cool, and wildlife congregates around water sources. This is when you'll get the best game viewing at Hlane and Mkhaya.
July is peak tourist season, especially around the Reed Dance ceremony in late July or early August. Hotel prices spike, and you'll need to book months ahead. But seeing 40,000 maidens dance for the king? That's once-in-a-lifetime stuff.
May and September are sweet spots - fewer crowds, lower prices, still great weather. The landscape is golden after the rains, and hiking conditions are perfect.
October through March brings summer rains. It's hot, humid, and some roads become impassable. But the countryside explodes in green, waterfalls are at their most powerful, and accommodation is 30-40% cheaper. Just pack serious rain gear.
Avoid December and January unless you love crowds and inflated prices. South Africans flood in during their summer holidays.
