Engadin in February
Great time to visit
February is one of the best months to visit Engadin.
All Months
The Engadin operates on two distinct seasons, each with its own personality. Winter (December through February) transforms the valley into a snow globe, with St. Moritz hosting everything from the White Turf horse races on the frozen lake to the Snow Polo World Cup. This is peak luxury season—expect crowds and premium prices, but also perfectly groomed slopes and that magical quality of light bouncing off fresh snow. Summer (June through September) reveals the valley's gentler side, with hiking trails opening as snow melts and wildflowers carpeting the mountainsides. July and August bring the warmest weather and the busiest trails, while September offers golden light and fewer crowds. Spring and autumn are transition periods—some facilities close, but you'll have the mountains largely to yourself. The shoulder seasons reward visitors with lower prices and that sense of discovering something secret, though weather can be unpredictable.
