November through March brings the best weather – warm days around 75°F and cool evenings perfect for walking. December gets crowded with holiday celebrations, but the posadas processions and Christmas markets create magical atmosphere. January and February offer the sweet spot: fewer crowds, pleasant temperatures, and clear skies. Hotel prices drop 30% compared to peak season. March heats up but stays comfortable, with jacaranda trees blooming purple throughout the historic district. Avoid July and August unless you love rain. The wet season brings daily afternoon downpours that flood the old drainage systems. Streets turn into rivers, and many outdoor events get canceled. But if you don't mind getting soaked, this is when Centro feels most authentically Mexican.
