Djibouti in October

Good time to visit

October is a reasonable time to visit Djibouti.

All Months

November through March offers the most bearable temperatures — and by bearable, I mean highs around 85°F instead of 110°F. December and January are peak season, with pleasant evenings perfect for exploring Djibouti City on foot. February brings occasional light rains that cool things down and create temporary green patches in the desert. Avoid June through September unless you enjoy feeling like you're inside an oven. Temperatures regularly hit 120°F, and the humidity from the Red Sea makes everything worse. April and May are transitional — still hot but manageable if you start your day trips before dawn. The dry season means clear skies for photography, but pack serious sun protection. Even in winter, the sun here doesn't mess around.
