Denmark in April
Good time to visit
April is a reasonable time to visit Denmark.
All Months
May through September offers the best weather and longest days—Copenhagen gets nearly 18 hours of daylight in June. Summer temperatures hover around 20°C (68°F), perfect for cycling and outdoor dining.
July brings peak crowds and prices, especially in Copenhagen and coastal areas. June and August offer similar weather with slightly fewer tourists. September delivers beautiful autumn colors and harvest festivals, though rain increases.
May can be unpredictable weather-wise, but spring flowers bloom and locals emerge from winter hibernation with infectious energy. Winter has its charm—Christmas markets, cozy cafes, and hygge in full effect—but expect just seven hours of daylight in December.
Book accommodations early for summer, especially for Roskilde Festival in late June or when school holidays hit.
