Crete in June
Great time to visit
June is one of the best months to visit Crete.
All Months
April through June gives you the sweet spot — warm weather, blooming wildflowers, and crowds that haven't hit peak madness yet. May particularly shines with temperatures around 24°C and sea warm enough for swimming. July and August bring serious heat and serious crowds. Expect temperatures pushing 35°C and beaches packed by 10am. But the upside? Everything stays open late, and the party atmosphere in places like Malia goes full throttle. September and October offer the best of both worlds — still warm enough for beach days but with summer crowds thinning out. Local festivals pick up in fall too. November can work if you're focused on culture over beaches, though some mountain villages start shutting down for winter. Look, winter in Crete means rain, closed restaurants, and rough seas, but accommodation prices drop by 60 percent and you'll have ancient sites mostly to yourself.
