November through April offers the clearest skies and driest trails, making it prime time for rice terrace photography and cave exploration. The terraces look different throughout the year — bright green during planting season (June-July), golden during harvest (October-November), and brown during the dry months when they're preparing for the next cycle. December and January bring cool mountain air perfect for hiking, but pack layers because temperatures can drop to 10°C at night. Avoid the rainy season (May-October) unless you enjoy muddy trails and limited visibility. The dry season also means better road conditions, which matters when you're navigating those hairpin mountain curves.
