The train runs year-round, but summer brings afternoon thunderstorms that can delay schedules. Spring offers wildflowers and comfortable temperatures. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy hiking in humidity and dodging daily downpours. Winter months provide the clearest canyon views and best hiking conditions.
