Chefchaouen in May

Spring and fall hit the sweet spot. March through May brings wildflowers to the surrounding hills and temperatures around 20°C during the day. September through November offers the same comfortable weather without the crowds. Summer gets hot – not Marrakech hot, but the mountain sun is intense and the narrow streets trap heat. Winter brings rain and chilly nights that drop to 5°C. The blue walls look stunning against gray storm clouds, but you'll spend more time indoors. Ramadan affects restaurant hours but the atmosphere stays welcoming. Friday prayers make the main mosque area busy around noon, but it's worth experiencing if you're respectful.
