March through May brings perfect weather and festival season. The streets come alive during Semana Santa, but book accommodation early – everyone from surrounding towns floods in. September through November offers the sweet spot: fewer crowds, comfortable temperatures, and harvest season means the best local produce. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy feeling like you're walking through soup. December gets busy with holiday celebrations, but the posadas (traditional Christmas processions) make the crowds worth it. Rainy season runs June through September, but afternoon showers actually cool things down nicely. Just carry an umbrella and embrace the puddle-jumping.
