Catalonia in December

Not the best time

December isn't ideal for Catalonia. Consider a different month.

All Months

May and June offer perfect weather without summer's crushing crowds. Temperatures hover around 22-25°C, beaches warm up nicely, and restaurant terraces fill with locals enjoying long lunches. September and October deliver similar conditions with the bonus of harvest season in wine country. July and August bring intense heat (often 30°C+) and packed beaches - book accommodations months ahead for summer visits. Barcelona can feel suffocating in August when locals flee to the coast. Winter (December-February) sees mild temperatures around 15°C but many beach restaurants close. March and April can be unpredictable with occasional rain, though Easter week brings beautiful weather and colorful processions. For skiing in the Pyrenees, December through March offers the best snow conditions. Festival lovers should time visits for Barcelona's Festa Major de Gràcia in August or Sitges Carnival in February.
