Spring brings wildflowers to the valleys, while fall offers clear skies and comfortable hiking temperatures. July and August are brutal — temperatures hit 35°C, and every viewpoint is packed with tour groups. Winter can be magical with snow-capped fairy chimneys, but many balloon companies cancel flights due to wind. Hot air balloon season officially runs March through November, but April-May and September-October have the most consistent flying weather. Book balloon rides at least 2-3 days ahead during peak season. The shoulder seasons also mean better hotel rates — you might snag a cave suite for €80 instead of €200.
