Brazil in November
Good time to visit
November is a reasonable time to visit Brazil.
All Months
Brazil's seasons flip from the northern hemisphere, creating year-round travel opportunities depending on your destination and priorities.
April through September offers the best overall weather. Rio and São Paulo enjoy mild temperatures and less humidity. This coincides with Brazil's winter, but "winter" means 70°F days and cool evenings perfect for walking around.
Carnival season (February/March) transforms the entire country, especially Rio and Salvador. Hotels triple their prices and book out months in advance. The energy is incredible, but expect crowds, noise, and inflated costs for everything.
Amazon visits work best during the dry season (June to November). Rivers run lower, making wildlife spotting easier, and there's less rain to disrupt activities. But the wet season (December to May) brings lush vegetation and better bird watching.
Southern Brazil (Porto Alegre, Florianópolis) gets genuinely cold from June to August. Beach destinations like Florianópolis empty out during these months, making it perfect for budget travelers who don't mind cooler ocean temperatures.
Northeast beaches (Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador) maintain warm weather year-round. The trade winds keep temperatures comfortable even in summer. December through March brings more rain but also fewer tourists and lower prices.
New Year's Eve in Rio draws two million people to Copacabana beach for fireworks and concerts. Book accommodations six months ahead, and prepare for crowds that make Carnival look intimate.
