Blyde River Canyon in March
Good time to visit
March is a reasonable time to visit Blyde River Canyon.
All Months
April through September is peak season for good reason. Skies stay clear, temperatures hover around 20-25°C, and the summer rains have turned everything green. July and August are busiest but also when wildlife is most active. March and October are shoulder seasons — fewer crowds but afternoon thunderstorms become more common. I'd avoid November through February unless you enjoy hiking in 35°C heat with 80% humidity. Plus, summer rains can make trails muddy and dangerous. Early morning visits (7-10 AM) offer the best light for photography and cooler temperatures. Sunset from God's Window is spectacular but gets crowded — arrive by 4 PM to secure parking.
