March through May gives you perfect weather — 70s and 80s with lower humidity before summer hits like a wall. April brings dogwood blooms and comfortable evenings for outdoor dining. Fall runs September through November with similar temps and gorgeous foliage in nearby mountains. September can still feel sticky, but October and November are golden months. Summer means 90+ degrees with humidity that makes you question life choices. But if you can handle it, hotel rates drop 30-40% and you'll have attractions mostly to yourself. Winter stays mild by most standards — 40s and 50s — but many outdoor attractions feel less appealing. Plus, some restaurants and breweries reduce hours. Skip December through February unless you're getting a serious deal on accommodations.
