Belarus in September
Great time to visit
September is one of the best months to visit Belarus.
All Months
May through September offers the best weather. Temperatures reach 20-25°C (68-77°F) and daylight lasts until 9 PM in summer. This is when Białowieża Forest looks most spectacular.
July brings the warmest weather but also the most mosquitoes in forested areas. Pack repellent if you're hiking.
September might be the sweet spot. Crowds thin out (not that there were many), temperatures stay comfortable, and autumn colors paint the forests. Hotel prices drop slightly too.
Winter transforms Belarus into a Soviet winter wonderland. Temperatures hit -10°C (14°F) regularly. But if you can handle the cold, you'll have the country almost to yourself. Plus, borscht tastes better when it's snowing outside.
Avoid major holidays like Independence Day (July 3) when government buildings close and transportation gets disrupted. Though watching military parades gives you insight into Belarusian culture.
