Bay of Fundy in July
Great time to visit
July is one of the best months to visit Bay of Fundy.
All Months
Summer and early fall deliver the Bay of Fundy at its most accessible. June through September offers the warmest weather and calmest seas for whale watching — this is when humpback, minke, and finback whales feed in the nutrient-rich waters. July and August bring peak tourist season, which means crowds at Hopewell Rocks but also the most tour options and longest daylight hours. September might be the sweet spot — fewer people, still-warm water, and the beginning of fall colors along the coastal forests. The tides themselves don't change seasonally, but winter weather can make coastal access dangerous. Ice forms along the shoreline from December through March, creating different but equally dramatic scenery. Just dress for it — even summer evenings can be cool thanks to the maritime climate.
