Attica in May
Great time to visit
May is one of the best months to visit Attica.
All Months
April through June gives you warm days without the crushing heat. The Easter celebrations in April are spectacular if you can handle the crowds. May hits the sweet spot — 75°F days, blooming bougainvillea, and restaurant terraces opening for the season. September and October bring the best weather of the year. Locals call it 'little summer' — still warm enough for swimming but cool enough for hiking Mount Hymettus. July and August? Only come if you love 95°F heat and paying double for everything. But here's the thing about winter: January temperatures hover around 55°F, perfect for exploring ancient sites without sweating through your shirt. The mountain villages get occasional snow, creating scenes that look nothing like the Greece of postcards. November through March, many coastal restaurants close, but Athens restaurants hit their stride.
