Temperatures hover in the 60s-70s, humidity drops, and the changing leaves look spectacular from Arlington's hills. This is peak tourist season for DC area, so book accommodations early. Summer brings heat and humidity that'll drain you by noon. July and August see temperatures in the 80s-90s with oppressive humidity. But hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have shorter lines at major attractions. Winter keeps crowds minimal but weather unpredictable.
