Andorra in October
Good time to visit
October is a reasonable time to visit Andorra.
All Months
December through February delivers the best snow conditions, with January offering the most reliable powder. Grandvalira typically opens in early December and runs through April, but the sweet spot hits in January when crowds thin out after New Year's. Temperatures hover around -5°C to 5°C, perfect for skiing but pack layers.
Summer (June through August) transforms Andorra into hiking paradise. The GR11 trail crosses through the country, offering multi-day treks with mountain hut stops. July brings the best weather for high-altitude hiking, with temperatures reaching 20°C in the valleys. The downside? Many ski-focused businesses close completely.
Avoid March if you hate crowds — it's when Spanish families descend for school holidays, turning lift lines into endurance tests. September offers excellent hiking weather with fewer tourists, but some mountain restaurants start closing for the season. November is dead season — too warm for skiing, too cold for comfortable hiking.
