Summer owns Alaska tourism for good reason. June through August brings 18-22 hours of daylight, accessible roads, and wildlife activity. August offers berry picking and fall colors starting in late month. September rewards brave visitors with northern lights season beginning, fewer crowds, and still-decent weather for hiking.
