The Racha is a five-star eco-luxury resort sitting on 20 acres of tropical grounds above Batok Bay on Koh Racha Yai, a small Andaman Sea island 12 nautical miles south of Phuket. Getting here takes a 35-minute speedboat ride from Chalong Pier — and yes, that's part of the experience. The resort holds 85 whitewashed villas across eight categories, three dining outlets, a PADI 5-Star Dive Center, and the award-winning Anumba Spa spanning 2,320 sqm of its own grounds. It earned a Michelin Key in 2025 and holds EarthCheck Gold certification for its genuinely serious sustainability program.

Situated on elevated ground for sweeping panoramic views of the resort and ocean. At 105 sqm, these are the go-to for families or small groups needing two proper bedrooms. Same private pool setup as the Grand Pool Suite, plus the elevated perspective makes sunset watching genuinely special. Max 4 guests.

The entry-level option, and still quite nice. Laid out in pairs sharing a detached open pavilion, these are the most compact units on the property at 43 sqm (excluding terrace). Whitewashed interiors with teak accents, full villa amenities, and a shared garden view. Good for budget-conscious guests who still want the full Racha experience.

Same footprint as the Grand Deluxe Villa but with the addition of a very private outdoor ozonated plunge pool. The Beachfront version is steps from the sand. 54 sqm interior, so not the largest, but the private pool makes a real difference. A solid mid-tier pick.

Standalone villas — no sharing of pavilions here. 54 sqm with added privacy and a slightly more spacious layout than the Deluxe. Bright, airy, and well suited to couples who want their own space. Some units have partial sea views.

The resort's most popular category, and easy to see why. A 35 sqm sunlit infinity pool overlooks the Andaman Sea directly. The 93 sqm suite itself sits on elevated prime sites — some Beachfront versions are just steps from the sand. Dual rain showers, deep Jacuzzi tub with sea views, outdoor pavilion sundeck, and music piped into the pool. The Beachfront variant books out fastest.

At 86 sqm these are considerably more spacious than the pool villa categories below. Large living area and bedroom, well-equipped multimedia entertainment, and a private pool. Good step up for those wanting more indoor room to breathe.

The 72 sqm suites step up noticeably in both size and feel. Luxuriously appointed bedroom opens to a state-of-the-art living room with views of the spa pool. These are popular with guests who want to linger in the spa zone of the resort without hiking across the grounds.

This is the resort's showstopper and one of the more architecturally unusual hotel accommodations in Southeast Asia. Five stories tall at 15 meters, it stands apart from the low-rise villas across the resort. The compound has multiple indoor/outdoor living spaces, generous terraces, outdoor showers, and a scented garden leading to a 3.5m x 8.5m ozonated pool with Jacuzzi jets, mood lighting, and underwater music. Two master bedrooms occupy the lowest two floors (both with Jacuzzi ensuite baths), a third king bed on floor 3, a single bed on floor 4, and a circular paramour daybed observation lounge at the very top with 360° views of Racha Yai and the Andaman Sea. PADI 5-Star Dive Center with a purpose-built 3m deep ozonated instructional pool, air-conditioned classroom, and retail shop. Courses range from a half-day Discover Scuba session to Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and multiple PADI specialties (Wreck, Deep, Night, Nitrox, Underwater Photography). Beach dives, boat dives, and night dives run to sites including Lucy's Reef (moray eels, lionfish, clownfish), Staghorn Reef (giant clams, turtles, possible manta rays), and Lah Bay (three wrecks at 18-25m). Day trips to Racha Noi, Phi Phi, Shark Point, and the King Cruiser Wreck are also available.
