Kimpton took it over and reopened in February 2025 after an extensive refurbishment, and the result is the only Gran Lujo (GL) property in eastern Marbella: a designation that sits above the standard 5-star category. Rooms are designed by Cristina Carulla's studio, common areas by El Equipo Creativo, and the whole place leans into a warm, 1970s Costa del Sol nostalgia without feeling dated. The rooftop bar Escondido, Michelin-starred chef José Carlos García's kitchen, and a Dolce & Gabbana-branded beach club make this one of the most complete resort packages on the coast.
