Why It Matters
Awarded the Michelin Key 2025. Sits within the only DOCG wine zone in Sicily (Cerasuolo di Vittoria). The dining room has a glass floor through which you see the barrel cellar below. Wines with labels by Versace and Missoni. On July 12, 2025, the estate was officially proclaimed a Place of Memory after WWII battle evidence — bullet holes in the walls — was verified by the US Parachute Association.
An 18th-century Sicilian estate — a sprawling baglio and one of the island's largest palmenti — converted into a 15-room boutique wine hotel on the edge of the Sughereta di Niscemi Nature Reserve. The UNESCO-listed Val di Noto surrounds it on all sides: vineyards, cork oak forest, and the kind of silence you can actually feel. The estate produces its own award-winning Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG wines, whose labels were designed by Italian fashion houses including Versace, Missoni, and Alberta Ferretti.

Both are spread over two levels with the double bed on the upper floor and vineyard views. Best choice for couples wanting character and discreet luxury.

Cooking courses developed in collaboration with Le Cirque New York, exploring the connection between Sicilian culinary tradition and the techniques of one of New York's most legendary restaurants. Courses run from 2–3 days up to two weeks. Covers Sicilian classics and their Arab, Greek, Spanish, and Norman culinary influences.
The estate is a strategic base for day trips to UNESCO-listed baroque cities: Caltagirone (25 km, famous for painted ceramics), Ragusa (60 km), Modica (70 km), Noto (110 km), and the Greek theatres of Siracusa. Hotel staff can advise on routes and highlights. Villa Romana del Casale at Piazza Armerina is 40 km away.
Private candlelit dinner arranged in the estate's outdoor spaces under the Val di Noto night sky. An add-on experience for guests — intimate, quiet, and genuinely romantic. Must be arranged in advance with the hotel.
Guided or self-guided walking routes through the surrounding Sicilian countryside and the Sughereta di Niscemi Nature Reserve, a protected cork oak forest with hundreds of plant species. Hotel staff can advise on trails. Short and long routes available.
Guided tour of the historic Palmento winery and modern production facility across 49 hectares of DOCG vineyards. Led by a professional sommelier who walks guests through the full production cycle — vineyard, Palmento museum, winemaking areas — followed by a tasting of three Feudi del Pisciotto wines in the dedicated tasting room. The historic Palmento (wine-making plant) — one of the largest in Sicily — is preserved as an on-site museum and can be visited. Eight original grape-pressing basins with historic tannin staining are still visible. Designated a Place of Memory in July 2025 for its WWII significance.
Full buffet breakfast served every morning, entirely prepared with zero-km ingredients. Includes homemade cakes and tarts with local jam, croissants, fresh seasonal fruit, traditional Sicilian breads, cereals, organic produce corner, cheeses, charcuterie, and hot drinks. Can also be taken outside in good weather or in the bedroom (on request).
