Waters Edge Hotel
Coastal New England boutique. Intimate, low-key, romance-forward. More homey inn than flashy hotel. Think crisp white linens, beamed ceilings, fire crackle, bay breeze.
Book a View King or Grand King for the best deck-to-bay ratio — the Standard King rooms face inward and have no bay views.
Why It Matters
The only waterfront hotel in Tiburon. Perched literally on a historic dock over San Francisco Bay with direct views of the SF skyline and Angel Island. All amenities included with zero resort fees — a genuinely rare policy at this price point.
Waters Edge sits on a historic dock right at the foot of Main Street in Tiburon — a small Marin County town connected to San Francisco by a 30-minute ferry. It's the only hotel in town actually on the water. From the Grand View Deck you get a clear sightline straight across the bay to the San Francisco skyline, with Angel Island floating in between. The building has a distinct New England character: muted cream tones, unfinished wood, nautical touches that feel considered rather than kitschy. Twenty-three rooms, every single one with a wood-burning fireplace. No restaurant, no pool, no full spa. But the included amenities — room-delivered continental breakfast, evening wine and cheese on the deck, complimentary Trek bikes, warm cookies at night — more than compensate.
