Why It Matters
Won Best Resort at the AHEAD Europe Awards ('small but perfectly formed,' per the judges). Built entirely by hand over four years — machinery couldn't access the site. Only three villas, adults-only, zero shared spaces. One of the most architecturally distinct properties in the Greek islands.
Three cave villas hand-carved into an Imerovigli clifftop, sitting directly above the Santorini caldera. K-Studio (Athens) designed the whole thing — sharp volcanic-rock channels slicing down from reception to three fully self-contained retreats, each with its own kitchen, king bed, and an infinity spa tub cantilevered over hundreds of feet of open air. Villa Alpha
Bright and breezy — less cave-dark than Omikron, more light floods the interiors. Another two-level duplex, with the living room, kitchen, and main terrace on the upper floor and the bedroom below. The main terrace has the infinity spa tub positioned to face due west, making this the top pick for sunset views. The lower bedroom level also has its own private balcony with caldera views. Minimalist Cycladic design throughout, with custom-made furniture and the same black marble bathtub setup.

Villa Omikron
The most traditional of the three — a single-level cave-like cocoon inspired directly by Santorini's original cave dwellings. Three rooms that move in succession deeper into the volcanic rock, with vaulted ceilings softening the shadows as you go further back. The freestanding black Vasaltis marble bathtub sits inside, and the veranda — the largest terrace of all three villas — looks straight onto the caldera and volcano. Best for: those who want the most dramatic, cave-immersive experience and the biggest outdoor space.

Villa Ro
A two-level duplex carved into the cliff face using an earthy palette of beige, dark wood, and black. Upper level has the living room, kitchen, dining area, and the main terrace with the infinity spa tub that appears to float over the Aegean. Head down a level and the bedroom opens onto its own private balcony — also with caldera views. The black marble freestanding bathtub lives here alongside the bed. Two separate verandas make this the most versatile setup for outdoor living.
