Why It Matters
A genuine piece of Florentine aristocratic history — the Della Robbia family (the famous Renaissance ceramists) used the villa as their summer retreat from the 16th century. Duchess Franca Visconti opened it as a hotel in 1977 and the current owners, Corso and Jacqueline, have kept that private-house ethos intact. The tower suite with 16th-century tapestries is unlike anything else in the region.

Deluxe Room Conca d'Oro
Located in the recently renovated Casa Conca d'Oro building in San Leolino, a separate structure facing the Villa Le Barone gardens. Stylish, air-conditioned, with terracotta floors, antique furnishings, and a nice bathroom. Open year-round — good for shoulder or winter visits. Guests have access to the hotel's pool and tennis during main season.
Historic Suite
Two suites in the main house, each with serious historical weight. One is set in the villa's ancient tower — panoramic views over the Chianti vineyards but a quite steep staircase to reach it. The other was Marchesa Maria Bianca Viviani Della Robbia's own bedroom, furnished with the pieces she received on her wedding day. Both are spacious and full of original character.
Junior Suite
Romantic suites with exposed wooden beams, antique furnishings, Italian terracotta floors, and designer fabrics. Popular for honeymoons and special occasions. Private bathroom with both bathtub and shower. Extra bed available on request.
