Ask the concierge for a tour of other guest suites — each one has a radically different theme, from coin-covered bathrooms (Vicky Money) to adobe walls (the Chile room); you won't see them otherwise

Why It Matters

Michelin Two Keys property. Ranked #3 in World's Best Vineyards 2024. The only winery on the eastern side of the Cordillera de la Costa range. Architect Daglio's sculptural titanium-and-bronze roof has been published in ArchDaily and Plataforma Arquitectura. The Viks make their own French oak barrels from estate trees and produce their own yeasts from flowers. Three distinct restaurants on-site, all supplied from the estate's 100% organic garden.

Sitting on a hilltop in Millahue Valley, Vik Chile is the kind of place that makes you question why you ever stayed anywhere else. Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik and his wife Carrie spent two years deploying scientists across South America to find optimal wine terroir, landing on this 4,450-hectare private reserve that the Mapuche people called Millahue — 'place of gold.' The titanium-and-bronze building designed by Uruguayan architect Marcelo Daglio opened in 2014 with 22 individually themed suites plus 7 glass bungalows, a Michelin Two Keys distinction, and a winery now ranked among the world's best three.

Master Suite

A step up in space from the standard suite. At 45 sqm these corner rooms maximize the views with double-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, and the extra room to breathe makes a noticeable difference. Still individually designed with original art, still with the freestanding tub and walk-in rainfall shower. South-wing Master Suites look out over the valley, lake, and hills; north-wing versions face the Falaris-Colchagua Valley and vineyard.

Puro Vik Bungalow

Seven freestanding glass houses set apart from the main hotel building in the hillside, each offering total privacy surrounded by native forest and vineyard. Opened in 2018, Puro Vik represents the Viks' more minimal, nature-immersive concept. Wide-planked hardwood floors extend from the bedroom to a private terrace. Each bathroom is unique — marble sourced from around the world, handmade Japanese washi paper set inside glass walls creating an elegant screen between bedroom and bath. The roof is either wild grasses or solar panels depending on sun exposure. The outdoor bathtub on the private terrace is the centerpiece.

King-size bed dressed in Egyptian cotton, walk-in rainfall shower, freestanding bathtub big enough for two, minibar with complimentary contents, and Ecolab bath products. No television.

VIK Lodge

VIK Lodge

Originally built for Alexander and Carrie Vik and their family by Chilean architect Smiljan Radić Clarke — the same architect who designed the winery. Now available to guests as a private rental unit. It's composed of four double suites arranged along two long terraces, plus a shared common space with a kitchenette. At the center of that communal room sits an elongated concrete table built for long, unhurried conversations over a bottle of VIK. Fireplace included. A genuinely rustic-luxury option within an otherwise sleek property.
