Why It Matters
Home to Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau, holder of three Michelin stars continuously since 2005 and the longest-reigning three-star chef in Germany. Christian Bau was also the youngest German chef to reach three stars, and has been named 'Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador' by Tokyo's Ministry of Agriculture. Fine-dining authority Andy Hayler once called it his favorite three-star restaurant in the world. The hotel itself holds Germany's highest hotel classification: 5-Star Superior.
Two buildings, two completely different worlds. The Roman villa is where you check in, have breakfast, and decompress by the pool. The Renaissance castle next door is where Christian Bau has been cooking some of the most technically precise food in Germany since 1998. Three Michelin stars since 2005. The property sits on vineyard slopes in Germany's oldest wine-growing region, right at the corner where Germany, France, and Luxembourg converge — Luxembourg Airport is 28 minutes away. It's theatrical, unabashedly opulent, and leans hard into its Roman-Mediterranean identity. Not subtle, not minimalist. But that's the point.

Named Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in 2016. Stage 1 departs from Perl (near the hotel) to Palzem — approximately 21.5 km, taking around 6.5 hours. Passes the German-French nature reserve on the Hammelsberg, with orchid meadows in May–June.
A 6.3 km loop trail starting directly from Schloss Berg (at Die Scheune), passing through vineyards, orchards, and limestone karst formations. Takes approximately 2 hours and leads back to the hotel beer garden.
