Why It Matters
The first boutique hotel on the Dutch coastline. Designed by Studio Akkerhuis (Paris) for brothers Michiel and Martijn van den Berg in the shell of the 1904 Hotel Clarenwijck. Added 8 new top-floor suites and relaunched The Food & Cocktail Club serving Nikkei cuisine.
Vesper claims to be the first boutique hotel on the Dutch coast, and the building backs that up — it occupies a former hotel originally built in 1904, now transformed by Paris-based Studio Akkerhuis into something that mixes 1920s glamour with sharp contemporary design. The lobby runs the full length of the building facing the North Sea, anchored by a long cocktail bar and a brass-and-steel cabinet that stretches from the basement to the roof, where a stained glass rooflight floods it with natural daylight. Every one of the 27 rooms is individually styled and decorated in a different colour — no two are alike.

The entry-level room. Compact at 18m², individually designed with vintage furniture and a rain shower. No sea view and does not accommodate an extra bed. Good for solo travellers or couples who prioritise the hotel's public spaces over room size.

The Deluxe Room upgraded with a private balcony facing the sea. At 25m² it's just slightly bigger, but having outdoor space directly over the North Sea is the draw here. Good for watching the sunset without moving from your room.

At 68m² this is one of the largest options in the hotel, with sea views and a private garden. Think of it as a self-contained apartment with hotel service — plenty of space to spread out.

The hotel's flagship suite at 70m². Comes with a second bedroom (or spacious private living room), two bathrooms, a personal spa bathroom with steam shower, private sauna, and a bathtub with sea view. The 47m² terrace balcony is the kicker. Only available on personal request — you have to contact the hotel directly to book it.

A 30m² suite with sea view, a private balcony or garden access, and a separate seating area. Some units include a record player — guests can swap vinyl LPs with other rooms in the hotel, which is a nice touch.

The hotel lobby cocktail bar operates from morning through late evening. Seasoned bartenders, signature cocktails, wines from the wine cellar, and bar food. Open to non-guests too.
Two e-bikes plus a curated route map for exploring Noordwijk's dune trails and the Bulb Region (tulip fields). Available as part of the Explore package.
