Why It Matters
One of the few Golden Triangle hotels where the architecture does the heavy lifting — Gustave Eiffel's glass dome over the restaurant is a genuine one-of-a-kind feature. Built originally as a hotel (not a converted apartment building), so the rooms are larger than Paris norms. 50 rooms keeps it genuinely boutique.
Hôtel Vernet has been sitting quietly on a cobbled side street off the Arc de Triomphe since 1913, which means it predates nearly every 'new luxury' hotel trend by about a century. The building is a post-Haussmann design by Albert Joseph Sélonier, and the crown jewel is a glass dome — framework by Gustave Eiffel himself — that turns the restaurant into something genuinely spectacular. Interior architect François Champsaur gave the place a sharp contemporary overhaul: checkered Carrera marble floors, black oak check-in desks, brass mesh backdrops, and custom furnishings made in French workshops. It's part of the B Signature Hotels & Resorts family, alongside Hotel Bel Ami on the Left Bank.
