Francis and Eleanor Coppola bought this beachside property in 2001, rebuilt it after Hurricane Iris wiped it out, and turned it into one of the most distinctive small resorts in Central America. Twenty-five thatched cottages — dressed in hand-carved Balinese doors, stone sculptures, and antique Indonesian furnishings — sit along a Caribbean beachfront on the Placencia Peninsula. There's no air conditioning in most rooms. The sea breeze handles it.

Francis' Family Pavilion
The resort's most private standalone accommodation. Three bedrooms (two air-conditioned en-suites plus a third loft accessed by ladder), surrounded on three sides by high walled gardens. Private pool with original tile art, open-air thatched dining terrace overlooking the Caribbean, full wet bar, espresso machine, and a full-time butler. Garden View Cottage
Entry-level thatched cottage set among the resort's tropical gardens. Features Balinese hand-carved doors and décor, ceiling fans, screened porch, and a private bathroom. Cooled by ceiling fans and natural ventilation — no A/C.

Two-bedroom villa set in the lush resort gardens, just steps from the Caribbean Sea. More spacious than the cottages, suited to families or groups wanting extra room.

Seafront Cottage
The most sought-after cottage category — steps from the beach and the Caribbean. Includes a private garden with outdoor shower, screened porch, and a bathroom with Japanese bath fixtures. Balinese antique carved doors throughout. Walk down from the screened porch and you're in the water. The beach here is narrow with some sea grass, but the position is unbeatable.
Seafront Villa
Two-bedroom beachfront villa combining the space of the villa category with a direct seafront position. The prime choice for families or couples wanting more room without going to a private pavilion.
Sofia's Beach House
A modernist-tropical beach house designed by architect Laurent Deroo — distinct in style from the rest of the Balinese property. Open-plan main house plus two separate guest bungalows, sleeping up to four or five bedrooms total. Full kitchen, open-air living and dining room, seafront media room (convertible to bedroom), second-floor king master with private bathroom and adjacent queen bedroom. Air conditioning throughout. Private pool, outdoor BBQ, private butler and attendant, bicycles. Shares the beach and all resort amenities with Turtle Inn.
