Why It Matters
Rebranded in July 2024 after a $250 million renovation. The North Shore location is unique — near Banzai Pipeline and Waimea Bay — and the sheer scale (1,300 acres, 80+ on-site experiences, horseback riding, a working farm, two golf courses) makes it unlike any other luxury property on Oahu.
The only full-scale luxury resort on Oahu's North Shore, sitting on nearly 1,300 acres with five miles of coastline and seven beaches. It started life in the 1970s as the Kuilima Hyatt, went through a Hilton phase, operated for years as the independent Turtle Bay Resort, and completed a $250 million renovation before being rebranded as a Ritz-Carlton in July 2024. The North Shore setting is genuinely remote — about an hour from Honolulu Airport — but that's the whole point.

Ali'i Suite
The largest and most premium accommodation in the main building. Perched on the highest floors near the ocean with panoramic North Shore coastline views. Comes with two bedrooms, elegant living and dining areas, a lavish ensuite with soaking tub and walk-in shower, a walk-in closet, and a second bathroom.
KingGuest Room
All rooms face the ocean — that's a genuine promise at Turtle Bay, not marketing copy. Designed by LA-based Dianna Wong, the interiors lean into the North Shore setting: wave-print wallpaper, warm wood floors, leather chairs, wooden end tables, and pops of color against cream-toned walls. Most have a furnished balcony with a daybed and lounge chair. Some top-floor rooms have walk-in showers only, no bathtub.
Ocean Bungalow Club
The most elevated bungalow tier, combining private oceanfront bungalow living with access to The Ritz-Carlton Club lounge — adding daily full breakfast, midday snacks, evening hors d'oeuvres, and dedicated Club concierge on top of all standard bungalow inclusions.

One of 42 freestanding beachfront bungalows set along the North Shore shoreline, tucked within indigenous tropical gardens. Each has its own private vanishing-edge infinity pool and a dedicated Bungalow Host. The open-air living concept includes a full pullout sofa, furnished outdoor lanai, soaking tub, walk-in shower, and Hawaii-made bath products. Beach cruiser bikes, snorkel gear, introductory surf lessons, and tennis/pickleball equipment are all included.
