Tilar Siro, Andamans
Minimalist eco-luxury. Think clean lines, warm wood, earthy tones — not maximalist tropical grandeur. The vibe is calm and nature-forward: naturalist-led intertidal walks, Ayurvedic treatments, and evening talks about indigenous tribes feel as central to the experience as the pool or the beach.
Beach No. 5 faces east, so you get spectacular sunrises and full-moon rises right from the resort; Radhanagar Beach on the west side is better for sunsets
Why It Matters
One of the very few serious eco-luxury properties in the Andamans, with an in-house Lacadives PADI dive centre, a genuine Ayurveda spa, strong cultural programming rooted in indigenous Andamanese heritage, and direct access to a private 2km beach. CGH Earth is a respected Kerala-based hospitality group with deep sustainability credentials across its portfolio.
Tilar Siro sits on the east coast of Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep), right on the 2km stretch of Vijaynagar Beach (Beach No. 5). The name comes from the Great Andamanese Tribe's word 'Thi-Lar-Siro' — land born from the sea — and the resort wears that identity seriously. Twenty-five stilted rooms and villas are built around existing trees using local timber and stone, with thatched roofs and floor-to-ceiling glass that frames the rainforest-meets-ocean backdrop. This is a CGH Earth property, which means strong sustainability credentials: marine biologists on staff, weekly beach clean-ups, water recycling, and locally sourced food.

The resort's activity centre featuring talks on indigenous Andamanese tribes, documentary screenings on the islands' biodiversity and cultures, and a curated library covering wildlife, nature, and local history.
Full-day boat trip to Barren Island, home to India's only active volcano. The crossing takes you through open ocean where dolphins, rays and schools of fish are regularly spotted.
Assisted excursions to Havelock's beaches: Radhanagar (25 mins by tuk-tuk, famous sunset), Elephant Beach (snorkelling and water sports), Kalapathar (small, scenic). The resort helps organise tuk-tuks and two-wheeler rentals.
Guided birding tours on the resort grounds and surrounding forest. The Andamans host 242 bird species including the Andaman woodpecker, drongos, kingfishers, and White-bellied Sea Eagle. Complimentary for guests and led by the resort's naturalist.
Naturalist-led walks through the dense jungle immediately beyond the beach, discovering endemic flora and fauna — including the Mahua tree.
A guided walk through the tidal pools exposed at low tide — no diving or snorkelling gear needed. The naturalist leads you through the rocky shore ecosystem to spot marine creatures hiding in the pools. Timing depends on tidal cycles (moon phases). One of the resort's most popular complimentary experiences.

An hour on the open Andaman Sea at sunset. The light on the water here is genuinely special. Additional charges apply.
Single or double kayaking through the sheltered mangrove waterways. Guide-led, with paddling technique briefing on land before entering the water.
Shallow-reef snorkelling trips in the coral-rich waters around Havelock, with optional island-hopping itineraries. Lacadives dive masters are on hand for guidance. Additional charges apply.

Guided walk through the mangrove ecosystem adjacent to the resort, learning about coastal protection and the marine life sheltered there.
Lacadives — one of the Andamans' top PADI-certified dive operators — has its outpost inside the resort. Options range from a Discover Scuba Dive (DSD, no experience needed) to PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification courses, plus fun dives for certified divers. Age limit 12–50 years (50–60 with medical certificate). Additional charges apply.
