Why It Matters
One of the very few actual beachfront boutique hotels in downtown Playa del Carmen with only 27 suites. The mid-century modern design leans into locally-sourced Mexican materials: hand-pressed Guadalajara tiles, whitewashed wood panels, stone. Opened in Spring 2016 as the quieter, sand-side companion to the Thompson Main House, it rebranded under Hyatt Centric in late 2025 but the bones and the beach access are exactly the same.

Weekend rooftop pool parties at Downtown House (accessible to Beach House guests). Live DJs, panoramic Caribbean views, bottomless mimosas and gin & tonics for $35 USD on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11am–6pm. Private cabanas available for rent.
Hands-on cooking classes included in the daily resort fee. Format and schedule varies — check with the concierge on arrival.
