The Twelve opened in 2007 in the Gaelic-speaking coastal village of Barna — about 10 minutes from Galway city and right on the doorstep of Connemara. Named after the Twelve Bens mountain peaks nearby, it's a design-led, multi-award-winning boutique hotel with a genuinely urban edge: mood lighting, polished parquet floors, suites with vinyl record players and in-room Jacuzzis. The food and wine programme is the main event here, with Blackthorn (a Michelin Guide–selected restaurant) upstairs and a buzzy gastropub below.

A suite designed with couples in mind — the name says it all. Positioned as the romantic choice for honeymoons and anniversary stays.
Luxury Suite
Open-plan living space with a 'pull up a stool' private cocktail bar, separate bedroom, vinyl record player with a curated collection, and a Jacuzzi bath. Private and residential in feel — more apartment than hotel room.
Marvellous Family Suite
A two-room suite that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 12. Guests have praised it as 'home away from home' — the kids get their own space. Children staying here have historically received a 'Golden Ticket' to the hotel's bakery.
Pet-Friendly Suite
Three dedicated suites with hardwood floors (easier for pets) and access to the hotel's full pet programme: welcome doggie bag, pet menu, and pet lobby. Must be booked by phone — not available online. Very popular; book ahead.

The hotel's top-tier VIP suite. Full details are limited publicly, but this is positioned as the ultimate luxury option at The Twelve.
