The Roundhouse
Industrial-modern boutique. Think exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, and artisan furnishings — not a theme park version of it. The design respects the bones of the building without being precious about it.

Why It Matters
One of the few Hudson Valley hotels where the building itself is the attraction. Converted from the Matteawan Manufacturing Company (1800s), the property sits literally over a rushing waterfall and creek. The restaurant is award-winning and sources heavily from Hudson Valley farms, wineries, and distilleries. Strong pick for NYC weekenders who want good food, easy train access (90 min from Grand Central), and real architecture.
A former 19th-century factory complex set directly above Fishkill Creek and Beacon Falls, The Roundhouse is a 51-room boutique hotel that genuinely earns its setting. The original wooden beams, oversized factory windows, and curved brick walls are all still there — they've just been paired with locally crafted mid-century modern furniture and Lather bath products. The restaurant is legitimately good, the waterfall views are real, and Dia Beacon is a 15-minute walk.

One of the country's top contemporary art museums — works by Louise Bourgeois, Richard Serra, Gerhard Richter, and others in a converted Nabisco factory on the Hudson. A 15-minute walk or short drive from the hotel.
Mt. Beacon trailhead is roughly 0.75 miles from the hotel. Long Dock Park and Hudson Highlands trails are also a short distance away. The front desk can advise on routes.
Over a mile of locally owned shops, galleries, breweries, cafés, and restaurants literally steps from the hotel entrance. The hotel curates a local guide with specific recommendations across art, breweries, history, nature, and nightlife categories.
The property sits directly above Beacon Falls on Fishkill Creek. The rushing waterfall is visible from the restaurant, lounge, patio, and many guest rooms. No charge, always there.
