Why It Matters
Designed by Morris Lapidus — the architect behind the Fontainebleau — it opened as The DiLido Hotel in 1953 and is one of the most historically significant properties on the strip. The José Andrés Group dining partnership is a genuine upgrade; Zaytinya is not a hotel restaurant in the diminished sense. And DiLido Beach Bar is one of the only true oceanfront restaurants on South Beach.
Designed by architect Morris Lapidus and opened in 1953 as The DiLido Hotel, this is one of Miami Beach's great Art Deco landmarks — fully renovated and running as a serious oceanfront resort. It sits right where Lincoln Road meets the sand, so you're steps from the pedestrian mall and the Atlantic at the same time. All 376 rooms and suites went through a top-to-bottom overhaul; the dining program is now run entirely by José Andrés Group across three venues.
