A bay-facing room catches the Port Phillip Bay sunset — worth requesting specifically at booking

Why It Matters

Holds one Michelin Key, won 2025 Gourmet Traveller Hotel of the Year, and is a Forbes Travel Guide Global Partner. The 20-metre heated indoor infinity pool on Level 64 is triple-height glass and arguably Melbourne's most dramatic wellness space. Atria is one of the city's most celebrated fine dining rooms. The check-in on the 80th floor sky lobby is a genuine arrival experience.

The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne opened in March 2023 and occupies the top floors of the West Side Place tower — check-in happens on the 80th floor via a high-speed express elevator. Guest rooms sit between levels 65 and 79, meaning the lowest room in the house is still sky-high above the city. The interiors are a genuine visual statement: black marble, Art Deco geometric patterns referencing Melbourne's gold rush, First Nations artwork, and custom lighting by Christopher Boots sit alongside walnut panelling and gold accents — it shouldn't work, and somehow it absolutely does.
