Why It Matters
The Caribbean's first and only Forbes Travel Guide Triple Five-Star resort (hotel, spa, and Blue by Eric Ripert restaurant each holding five stars). Blue is also the only AAA Five Diamond restaurant in the entire Caribbean. The annual Cayman Cookout culinary festival, hosted by Eric Ripert each January, draws the world's top chefs.
Grand Cayman doesn't do adventure tourism — it does reliably brilliant sun, calm Caribbean water, and a dining scene that punches well above its weight. The Ritz-Carlton is the island's undisputed flagship, a 144-acre resort that runs from Seven Mile Beach all the way to the North Sound, with a Greg Norman golf course in the middle. Jean-Michel Cousteau's program turns Grand Cayman into a living classroom. Guided kayak tours through mangroves, nocturnal snorkeling, stargazing, cultural exhibits at the Heritage House cottage, and family cooking classes. Opens daily 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. Contact caymanambassadors@ritzcarlton.com.
Annual culinary festival held each January. Hosted by Eric Ripert alongside the resort's Executive Chef Frederic Morineau. Features 60+ cooking demonstrations, expert tastings, beach BBQs, and excursions led by celebrity chefs including José Andrés, Andrew Zimmern, and others. One of the most sought-after food events in the Caribbean.
Included in the $85/day resort fee: kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, water tricycles, floating rafts, water hammocks, snorkel gear, and daily snorkeling lessons at 10:30 AM. Sailing lessons also included. Best variety on the island for a non-motorized beach experience.

Shared catamaran cruise to Stingray City Sandbar, Starfish Point, and a coral reef. Runs 9 AM–12 PM and 1:30–4:30 PM daily. Minimum 4 guests required.
Charter a 27-foot Boston Whaler for up to 8 guests. Half day (8 AM–12 PM or 1–5 PM) or full day. Includes bottled water, snacks, snorkel gear, towels, and a GoPro camera with take-home SD card.
Greg Norman-designed nine-hole course (3,516 yards, par 36) overlooking the North Sound. Subtle elevation and water hazards on multiple holes make it play longer than it looks. The 470-yard hole feels like 600. Pro shop, equipment rental, lessons, and a putting green available. Tee times 7:00 AM–5:30 PM daily. Golf maintenance June–October — call ahead for conditions.
The only Trackman simulator in Grand Cayman. Access 80+ virtual courses including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. Measures ball flight pattern and impact precisely — same technology used by PGA Tour pros. Reserve by the hour through the Golf Shop at +1 (345) 815-6500.
