The Nines opened in 2008 inside the historic 1909 Meier & Frank Building — once heralded as the largest retailer west of the Mississippi — and occupies the top nine floors. The building's origins as a high-fashion department store are baked into the hotel's DNA: rooms decked out in Tiffany-blue velvets, tufted ivory leather headboards, and over 400 pieces of commissioned local Oregon artwork. It holds LEED Silver certification, sits directly above Pioneer Courthouse Square, and is bookended by two seriously good restaurants.

Features 9-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and an elegantly upholstered window seat — ideal for settling in with a book and watching downtown Portland below. Meier & Frank Suite
Named after the building's original department store tenant. At 1,536 sq ft, it carries a gold-and-chocolate-brown decor with a nod to 1970s glamour — tufted velvet chairs, deco-style chandelier, oversized windows. The living room fits a dining table for eight. Separate whirlpool tub and walk-in rain shower plus a standalone bathtub in the bathroom. Three 55-inch HDTVs.

Great for those who want room to spread out or host. Separate living room with luxurious individual design touches, a dining table, and a wet bar. The flagship suite at 1,768 sq ft — the biggest room in the house. Features a butler's kitchen, wet bar, hardwood floors, an infinity tub, and a fireplace. The king bedroom has a TV embedded in the footboard. Even the bathroom mirror has a TV. Three 55-inch HDTVs total. Nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows round it out.
