The Mining Exchange

Why It Matters
First Registry Collection Hotel in the US. AAA 4 Diamond. Named one of Sunset Magazine's Best in the West for history hotels. The original 1902 stock exchange building has been reimagined rather than merely restored — it's the most design-forward hotel in downtown Colorado Springs by a significant margin.
Built in 1902 as Colorado Springs' gold and silver stock exchange, this 128-room downtown landmark is the first Registry Collection Hotel in the United States. The 2024 renovation by Elemental Architecture kept all the good bones — exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, picture windows — and layered in white oak floors, Carrara marble vanities, and commissioned art from local painter Emma Kelly. It's a hotel that takes its history seriously but doesn't feel like a museum.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Request healing stones sourced from Colorado — several were actually mined in the state — to be delivered to your room for the duration of your stay. Crystals are chosen in consultation with Aurathentic, a local science-led wellness boutique. It sounds gimmicky and it's also kind of great.
Add U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum tickets to your stay. The museum is a short walk from the hotel.
A package in partnership with The ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy. Includes museum tickets and tour, private roping lessons, a 'Desert Wind' Western-inspired facial at MX Spa, and a specialty cocktail. Book at least 14 days in advance.
Live jazz curated by Dizzy Charlie's Music & Events every Thursday at Golden Hour bar. Open to hotel guests and walk-ins alike.
Regular live music programming on Tuesdays and Fridays at Golden Hour, in addition to Thursday jazz.
A bookable add-on that includes a premium sketch box easel, acrylic paints, brushes, canvas, and a curated guide to the region for plein air painting sessions.
Rotating pop-up art classes and behind-the-scenes coffee and cocktail events scheduled through the hotel's happenings calendar.
The hotel's on-site gallery featuring rotating exhibits from local Colorado Springs artists. Accessible 24/7 to guests. First Friday events bring local artists in to meet visitors.
