Large-scale wine country resort with a campus feel. Modern design meets rustic wine country. Big enough that you could easily spend two days without leaving the property — pools, vineyard trails, bowling, multiple restaurants, and a spa carved into a hillside wine cave. More resort-sprawl than boutique-intimacy.

Why It Matters
The spa (Spa Terra) is built inside a real wine cave beneath the 9-acre Cab Franc vineyard, which is a genuinely unusual setup. The resort also produces its own label via Trinitas Cellars, and Ember Steak dry-ages its beef on-site and sources produce from a literal on-property chicken coop and chef's garden.
The Meritage is Napa's largest resort — 36 acres of hillside vineyard, cave spa, two pools, multiple restaurants, and a bowling alley all wrapped into one sprawling campus. It sits at the gateway to Napa Valley, about 4 miles from downtown, which is close enough to explore but self-contained enough that many guests barely leave. Opened in 2006 and celebrating its 20th anniversary, it holds an AAA Four Diamond rating and has been named one of Spas of America's Top 100 Spas for 2024.

Junior Suites & Studios
More space than the standard rooms, with a larger living area that includes a sleeper sofa — practical for families or when you just want room to spread out. Not a full suite but meaningfully larger than the base rooms.
Meritage King
Entry-level king room with resort or courtyard views. Comes with Frette linens, flat-screen TV with streaming, mini fridge, work desk, and high-speed WiFi. Clean and modern — nothing flashy, but well-appointed.

One Bedroom Suites
Full one-bedroom suites with a separate living room, kitchen, and a large private patio. A solid step up for longer stays or when you want actual home comforts — cook your own breakfast, sit outside with a glass of wine.
