Why It Matters
One of Mayfair's longest-running luxury addresses, originally inaugurated by royalty in 1927. Now the Official Hotel to London Fashion Week. Opened in 1927 and inaugurated by King George V and Queen Mary, The May Fair was the first new hotel to open in London in over 20 years. Today it holds onto the original Baccarat chandeliers while leaning into a clean-lined contemporary aesthetic — muted earth tones, minimalist suites, and a Japanese izakaya that shares a roof with an Italian restaurant. The bar pulls in a West End crowd most nights.
