Hoxton, Poblenou
Postmodern Mediterranean — sun-soaked Bofill-inspired palette, terracotta and concrete textures, curved arches, faded floral furnishings, handpainted murals. Think Barcelona-cool rather than Barcelona-traditional. Attracts a mix of design-literate locals and in-the-know international guests.

Why It Matters
The first Hoxton in Spain and the only one with a Homey room category (practically an apartment, with kitchenette and dining table). Designed as an explicit tribute to Ricardo Bofill, whose studio was nearby. The rooftop pool with unobstructed Sagrada Família views on one side and the sea on the other is genuinely hard to beat. Opened 2022.
The Hoxton's first Spanish outpost landed in Poblenou in 2022 and it does not blend in quietly. The entire 240-room hotel is a love letter to the late Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill — soaring arches, curved bar faces, terracotta floors, peach plaster walls and geometric tiles everywhere you look. It's the most visually distinct property in the Hoxton portfolio, and probably the most fun. The neighbourhood was once a textile and industrial hub; now it's galleries, concept stores and the kind of independent coffee shops that take their beans very seriously. The hotel sits right at home here.
