Why It Matters
The Hoxton's Irish debut — and the brand's first nightlife venue (Groundwork, 220 capacity). The building is the old Central Hotel and sits on archaeologically significant ground: Viking feast pits and medieval coins found during construction are now viewable through the lobby floor.
The Hoxton's first Irish hotel occupies the restored former Central Hotel on Exchequer Street, a Victorian building that sits atop Viking feast pits and medieval coins unearthed during construction. The lobby puts those finds on display beneath glass floors, and the space itself channels a traditional Irish pub through the Hoxton lens — oak, marble, cosy booths, limewash walls, and a stone fireplace. It's 129 rooms, four bar and dining destinations including the revived Library Bar, and a 220-capacity basement nightclub (Groundwork) opening in 2026, all planted right in the middle of Dublin's Creative Quarter.
