Why It Matters
The best hotel in College Station by a clear margin. The George is a 162-room, four-star boutique hotel sitting directly across from Texas A&M in Century Square — College Station's 60-acre mixed-use development. The design draws a straight line from the town's old railroad history: rooms are inspired by George Pullman's sleeper cars, but on a much more generous scale. Steel and glass mix with richly figured wood in the lobby, artists' work lines the walls, and a flock of movable sheep statues (some tagged by Houston graffiti artist GONZO247) greets guests throughout the property.
