The Garland
Retro-chic mid-century California boutique resort. Think warm oranges and greens, mid-century furniture, a vintage California ranch-meets-Hollywood-glamour aesthetic. Casual but with real character.

Why It Matters
One of the few independently owned boutique hotels in the LA area with genuine Hollywood pedigree. Named after TV actress Beverly Garland, still family-run, and a Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Top Hotel in LA for 6 consecutive years and Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards for 2 consecutive years. Official preferred hotel partner of Universal Studios Hollywood with a free trolley service.
The Garland is a family-founded boutique hotel that opened in 1970 on seven lush acres in North Hollywood. Actress Beverly Garland and husband Fillmore Crank built it as a hideaway; son James Crank took over in 2000 and turned it into a polished resort without losing the original warmth. The vibe is distinctly retro-California — warm tones, vintage design touches, and a sense that the place actually cares who is staying there.
